Article TLDWebHost is committed to your safety and security on the web. Therefore, all of our servers are equipped with signed certificates so you should never get any certificate errors when connecting to your mail server with your email client.

On a CPanel account, when checking mail through outlook, you may be greeted with -

The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified. The certificate's CN name does not match the passed value. Do you want to continue using this server?

This error is caused because you are connecting to a shared server but using your main domain as the mail server. IE, the server address you used to setup your mail account was mail.yourdomain.com. However, the server recognizes itself by the general server name (name.tldwebhost.com). So, if you are using SSL to connect to the incoming or outgoing mail server, you will need to use your server name to connect. The server name is located in the initial setup email that you received. If you are not sure what your server name is or what address to be connecting to, contact a support rep.
